  • What is Radon?

Radon is radioactive gas that has no smell, color or taste.

It comes from the normal decay of uranium and thorium. These two elements can be found in soil, rock (especially granite) and groundwater. Radon breaks down quickly, giving off radioactive particles that can enter homes through cracks in the floors, walls and foundation.

Over time, breathing in high levels of these particles can cause lung cancer. ***Radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer deaths after cigarette smoking.***

    Should I test for Radon?

Absolutely! Earth's geography is under constant pressure and change beneath us, therefore Radon is affected by those changes. So in short, just because a property passes inspection one year doesn't mean it will pass inspection in subsequent years.

What do I do if i have Radon?

A Radon mitigation system can be installed by a licensed contractor to overcome high levels of radon.
